Apartment in an elegant 18th Century
Townhouse |
CASA
BOMBARDA Bombarda House is an elegant bourgeois townhouse in the centre of Tavira. It was constructed in the late 18th century, some years after the Lisbon Earthquake of 1755 which devastated most of the Algarve. From 2011 to 2013 the house was skillfully restored with an eye to conserving the original architectural details while also conforming to Portuguese building regulations, amongst the strictest and most modern of Europe. |
Located
in the historic town center, on quiet Rua Dr. Miguel
Bombarda (click here
for Google Map), this pretty and spacious studio is ideally located on the ground floor
of an elegant old building.
The patio in back is sunny, filled with fragrant flowering plants, and
perfect for sunbathing, eating outside, drinking tea or cocktails, and
reading.
The apartment is 5 minutes’ walk from
the central square and
Roman bridge, and 10 minutes’ walk to the ferry to the beach on the
Island of Tavira. Both the train station (trains to Faro take 30
mins
and connect to the airport bus) and the bus station are also close by,
within easy walking distance, so reaching the house without a car is no
problem.
The advantages of being in the centre of town are many: older children can roam around town by themselves, and adults can enjoy their wine in the riverside restaurants and cafés without worrying about driving home. |
The 50m2 studio sleeps
2/3, with sunny, flower-filled patio, in historic centre of Tavira. Well furnished, fully equipped, Wi-Fi. Ground
floor, handy for cyclists. Ideal for couples or as artist's retreat.

Alexandra and Andrew are very friendly hosts. The studio is ideally located. June 2016 ˇ Eliza My 2nd stay here was great as well! April 2016 ˇ anthony m. said... 2 Feb 2016 excellent Henry O. said... 2 Feb 2016 A beautiful charming flat & town Eliza Staying in this cozy apt for 2 weeks I had very good communication with Alexandra who was gracious and helpful. The location on a residential street within the historic area made it easy to walk most places. The apt is very attractive with good lighting and had everything I needed to feel at home. March 2016 ˇ John Perfect location for exploring Tavira and Island. Accommodations were simply perfect and complete with all amenities including the private patio. Truly a romantic getaway for two while celebrating Valentines Day. February 2016 ˇ Kathryn Alexandra was charming and helpful and we loved staying in her cosy, comfortable and spacious studio. It was spotlessly clean, very well equipped and the beds were very comfy too. The patio was a bonus, even in November. The studio is in a fantastic location for exploring the lovely old town and for getting a little peace and quiet. We would highly recommend this studio, excellent value for money. November 2015 ˇ Jonathan Excellent experience. Nice and charming flat at a great location. If your looking for a bargin, rent this one. November 2015 ˇ Els Fantastic studio in very convenient location. Just as described. Tavira is special; rich in history and still very charming. October 2015 ˇ Michael Alexandra was very welcoming and met us early at the apartment, letting us in at lunchtime instead of later in the day. The Apartment was full of character, well equipped and had a very tranquil feel - ideal for a couple. The location was brilliant, just a few minutes walk down through the town to the river - it was also just 5 minutes walk from the train station. Alexandra also put us in touch with a transfer company, to the airport, which was very reasonable and collects you right at the door. October 2015 ˇ Jorgen It's a very nice studio in the old center of Tavira. It is spacious, clean and offeres everything you need. The lovely patio is bigger then the foto suggests. We didn't meet Alexandra but she was very helpfull in advance. The only minus point is that the wooden floor of the appartment on the first floor cracks loudly when someone walks on it but that is something you get used to quickly. October 2015 ˇ Brigitte Tavira is lovely and the appartment is cosy and near to the city centre October 2015 ˇ |
